This tour is a flexible, guaranteed escorted coach tour, guided in English only.
Once the tour is booked, it is guaranteed so it will definitely go ahead, and will never cancel.
The tour is flexible so you can tailor it to suit your needs. By clicking ‘Quote or Book’, you will have an option to choose your start and end date and destinations within the tour parameters. As these tours allow for such flexibility, the same people, tour guides or drivers may not be on your entire journey.
N ote: Please remember to have your passport ready, you will need it at the UK border. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes to visit Eperlecqes and warm clothing for the crossing. The time in France is one hour earlier than the UK, so when it is 12 noon in France it will be 11 am in the UK and you should put your watch back one hour. The currency used in the UK is the pound; we recommend changing your currency on the ferry.
07:30 h. – Departure from Paris. –We set out to the north of France.
11:00 h. – Eperlecqes Bunker .- Arrival- Includes admission to this large bunker, set in the woods, where the Germans launched their V1 and V2 missiles towards the UK. It was used for space research. Visit to this site.
12:30 h. - Eperlecques –Departure-. We continue to the nearby city of Calais. Arrival at the port of Calais at approximately 13 h where we take the ferry to the England. Customs and border formalities. Keep your passport at hand!
14:20 h. The ferry leaves at 14:20 h. The crossing takes about an hour and a half. The ferry is modern and has all commodities (restaurants, bars, places to relax in, games rooms, foreign exchange offices, shops...). Passengers with half board included can have lunch on the boat. – Arrival at Dover. Visitors should put their watches back one hour on arrival in the UK.
15:00 h. (local time) - Dover – Arrival, landing and then we continue to London.
17:45 h. London -Arrival. Free time (a trip to Leicester Square, China Town and Soho is sometimes organised at night, which is scheduled in the programme for the following day)-
18:00 h. Departure from the hotel and transfer to Piccadilly Circu s. Those who wish to meet up with the group directly at Piccadilly Circus can do so. Our guide will accompany you to Leicester Square and give you advice about the most interesting streets with an oriental flair. Visitors with half board included may have supper at a popular local restaurant.
20.30 h. return to the hotel from Piccadilly.
Note: In some cases, this evening event will be organised the previous day, when we arrive in London.
Scenery: Picturesque countryside with hills and woods.
07:30 hrs - London –Departure-. We cross the city and travel towards the north of England. Attractive countryside in the English countryside.
10:00 hrs - Cambridge –Arrival-. We have time to admire the beautiful main colleges and have lunch.
12:30 hrs - Cambridge –Departure-. We continue our journey towards the north, with views over agricultural fields and Sherwood Forest, former home of the legendary Robin Hood.
15:30 hrs - York –Arrival-. Passing along the walls that date to Roman times, we walk towards the cathedral. Time to stroll around its lively shopping streets.
17:30 hrs - York -Departure- We continue our journey northwards.
19:30 hrs - Durham –Arrival-. Impressive medieval city. Time to stroll around its cobbled streets in the centre and to discover its cathedral and castle, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Accommodation.
Scenery: Cross into Scotland. Castles, views over the sea.
08:30 hrs - Durham –Departure-. We travel north through England, and pass by the edge of the city of Newcastle.
09:45 hrs - Alnwick .- Medieval town dominated by its large castle. Attractive gardens. This was one of the backdrops for the Harry Potter film. Time to visit the castle (admission not included) or to stroll around. Note: the castle will be shut during the winter months (01 October-31 March).
11:15 hrs - Alnwick –Departure-. Cross into Scotland.
13:15 hrs - Edinburgh –Arrival-. We are now in the capital of Scotland, in one of the liveliest cities in the north of Europe, whose spectacular centre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle dominates the city centre, with its cobbled streets and parks. In the summer, the Edinburgh Festival is held, and the city brims with life and its many shows. Free time.
17:30 hrs -Scenic visit round the city with a local guide (occasionally, this could be earlier, being undertaken on our arrival in the city). Later on, we provide a transfer to return to the hotel.
Scenery: Beautiful landscapes all the stage; Especially in the afternoon as we passed the Cairngorms Mountains.
08:00 hrs. - Edinburgh - Departure. We travel to another historic city near Edinburgh.
09:15 hrs. Stirling. A time for a stroll in its historic center dominated by the great castle. After that we will trek the trail that goes to the foot of the tower (ticket not included) which was built in memory of William Wallace, a 13thcentury Scottish military hero who became famous thanks to the film Braveheart.
11:00 hrs. - Stirling / Wallace Monument - Departure.
12:45 hrs.- Pitlochry.- picturesque town where we know on arrival a traditional whisky distillery , Blair Athol, where Bell´s is produced. Entrance included . Time for lunch in town.
15.00hrs- Pitlochry- Departure.
15:15 hrs.- Blair Castle .- We include the entrance to this beautiful palace with its impressive gardens.
16:45 hrs.- Blair -Departure. We travel to the north of Scotland, beautiful mountainous landscapes follow our route.
18:45 hrs.- INVERNESS , arrival, maritime city very close to Loch Ness. Accommodation.
NOTE: The hotel network in northern Scotland is quite limited. For some tours (normally in the month of August), we may offer accommodation in towns around Inverness.
Scenery: Magnificent landscapes, lakes, high mountains sometimes snowed on their tops.
Notes: We recommend you to bring some warm clothing; You may need it during the boat ride. The schedules of the stage can be modified according to the assigned time of crossing by the Loch Ness.
08.00 hrs.- Inverness -Departure. We will enjoy a stage full of excitement amid quite beautiful landscapes, forests, lakes, deserted lands and fjords from northern Scotland.
10.30hrs- CASTLE OF EILEAN DONAN, a very picturesque castle is located over the fjord’s waters ( ticket included ). This castle will make us remember the ghosts that populate the castles of Scotland.
11.30 hrs. - Castle of Eilean - departure. Mountains and lakes follow our route.
12.45 hrs.- FORT AUGUSTUS where we will know its sluice gate system. Time to walk and have lunch.
14.00 hrs. - Fort Augustus - departure. We skirt the NESS LAKE. We will visit by the lake the ruined medieval castle of URQUHART (entrance included).
About 15.30hrs we includ a 30 minute boat tour around the lake´s dark waters from Urquhart Castle through to Clansman.
17.00 hrs.- Inverness. Arrival to the capital of the Highlands and unique city of the region at the mouth of the river Ness.
Scenery: Beautiful landscapes again of lakes, mountains, desolate moors, isolated areas, deep forests.
07:30 hrs.- Inverness - Departure. We travel again via Aviemore towards isolated regions, subarctic flora, mountains. On our route we made a brief stop at Spean Bridge , next to the monument to the commandos who trained here before the Normandy landing in World War II. We can take a photo of Ben Nevis, the highest summit of the British Isles.
10:00 hrs. - Fort William - Time for a coffee in this tourist town.
10:45 hrs. - Fort William - departure. We follow the coast, fjords bordering the ocean. - On our route we will pass next to Kilchurn Castle. A ruined castle that projects its image on a beautiful lake.
13:30 hrs.- Inveraray . a quite picturesque historic village by Loch Fyne with a large castle and quiet streets. Time to walk and have lunch.
15:30 hrs.- Inveraray -exit. We will return contouring Loch Lomond, one of the most popular lakes in Scotland.
17.30hrs- Glasgow. Arrival. Time for a stroll around the centre of this lively city.
Scenery: Seaside, hills, woods.
Notes: Remember to keep your passport; it will be requested at the point of embarkation. It is helpful if you can travel with some Scottish bank notes. Scotland mint their own notes, as does the North of Ireland. These Scottish or Northern Irish bank notes can be used easily in Scotland and Ireland respectively, but they may not be accepted in England and they are not valid in international banks. That is, if you have any Scottish or Irish notes left over, you will not be able to exchange them outside the United Kingdom. We recommend that you make sure you don´t have any Scottish bank notes left over on leaving Scotland and especially after our crossing to Belfast.
The schedules for this whole stage may vary depending on the boat.
08.00 hrs -Glasgow - Brief tour on the coach while leaving the city and then we travel toward the east coast of Scotland.
In Cairnryan we board a modern ferry to Ireland . Normally the boat leaves at 11.30 hrs. Crossing. The boats are very modern; you can shop in its stores or have lunch in its bars.
13.45 hrs - We get off the boat in Belfast. Arrival in this city of Victorian architecture which reminds us of the difficult coexistence between Protestants and Catholics in this area.- After a look round the Catholic and Protestant neighbourhoods that remind us of their troubled past, we visit the famous murals. Free time in the city centre.
16:30 hrs - Belfast –Departure-. We continue to the Republic of Ireland (Eire).
18:30 hrs - Dublin –Arrival at hotel-.
(Note: Occasionally, depending on our time of arrival in Dublin, the sightseeing tour of the city may be made on the previous afternoon).
Landscapes: Pleasant landscapes, forests, hills, picturesque villages en route.
08.30 hrs. Dublin -Departure. We start our journey to Powerscourt, very close to Dublin.
09.15 hrs. - POWERSCOURT. We will visit ( ticket included ) its magnificent gardens , designed in the 18th century and considered the most beautiful gardens in Ireland featuring its fountains, its Japanese garden, and its pet cemetery.
10.30 hrs.- Powerscourt -Departure. We continue our route towards the south of Ireland, crossing the National Park of Wicklow.
12.30 hrs. - KILKENNY we have time for lunch and stroll through this small city full of life, with its castle, cathedral, brewery ...
14.30 hrs. Kilkenny-Departure.
15.30 hrs. Rock of CASHEL, we will stop to visit the impressive medieval fortress that symbolises the fight of Irish people against England (ticket included).
17.00 hrs. - Cashel - exit.
18.15 hrs. - CORK, arriving at the end of the afternoon. Time for a stroll through the center of the second Irish city. Dinner included in the hotel.
Scenery: B eautiful scenery, especially in the Killarney National Park.
08:15 hrs - Cork - Departure.
09:00 hrs. - KINSALE -We will stop by Charles Fort to admire its great vistas of the ocean right by the 17th century fortress. Time in the historic centre of KINSALE , a seaside town, considered by many as one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Ireland.
10:30 hrs. - Kinsale. Departure.
12:30 hrs - KILLARNEY , a tourist town in the heart of Ireland. After strolling around and lunch, we include a romantic horse an d carriage tour of its NATIONAL PARK , amid gardens by the lake. We will take the horse and carriage tour until we arrive at Ross Castle which offers wonderful vistas by the lake. We include a short cruise to enjoy the views of the lake. Afterwards, we will get back en route.
16:00 hrs - Killarney - Departure. We continue our route;short stop in Adare, small village that preserves its picturesque traditional thatched-roof cottages and the ruins of the old abbey.
18:00 hrs. - LIMERICK - Arrival and free time.
19:30 hrs. - Return to the hotel, dinner included.
08.30hrs- Limerick- Departure.
09.00 hrs- BUNRATTY- Ticket included for FOLK PARK a wonderful park where we will learn about how life was in Ireland in the past with its typical cottages and old markets. Its castle stands out as it accurately reproduces how life was in the Middle Ages. Time for a stroll.
10.30hrs- Bunraty Folk Park- Departure. We travel to the coast, green landscapes and hills.
11.30hrs- Cliffs of Moher. Overlooking the ocean. Those who wish it may trek to O’Brien’s Tower (entrance not included, sometimes closed for climatological reasons). Time for lunch.
15.00hrs- CAHERCONNEL Fort arrival to this circular Celtic stone fort in the heart of the karstic landscape of the BURREN NATIONAL PARK . We may have a chance to see an exhibition of how dogs shepherd sheep.
16.30hrs- Departure. We stop to take some photos in this area where the Poulnabrone dolmen i s located.
Our road continues through attractive landscapes, isolated small villages.
18:15 hrs - GALWAY, Time for a walk on arrival to get to know the city and its university atmosphere.
19:45 hrs - Departure to our hotel.
08.45 hrs.- Galway, departure.
09.45 hrs.- Cong - small, picturesque village located in a magnificent lake area where John Ford filmed the movie "The Quiet Man". We will visit the ruins of the Royal Abbey and walk around Ashford castle, a gorgeous medieval castle that has been turned into a hotel. Time to walk and have lunch.
11.15 hrs. - Departure. We continue towards the center of Ireland.
12.45 hrs- Clonmacnoise: we will visit its monastic Celtic ruins. Time to know the enclosure (entrance included).
14.45 hrs - Clonmacnoise -departure. We continue our route.
16.15 hrs.- Dublin; arrival.
NB: Clonmacnoise allows entry to a limited number of people. Sometimes, depending on what is authorized, the schedule of the visit may be changed. In this case, all the schedules of the stage will be modified to be able to carry out all the planned visits.
07:00 hrs Departure from the hotel to board the modern high-speed ferry that departs at 08.45 hrs. Crossing of approximately two hours (occasionally, due to technical reasons or because of bad weather, we may take the 08.00 hrs ferry, in which case the crossing will take three and a half hours).
10:45 hrs Disembark in Holyhead, a port situated on an island in north Wales.
11:30 hrs Caernarfon .- After crossing the Britannia bridge, we arrive at this town, which is a World Heritage Site situated on the seashore, with its spectacular castle that dominates the bay and its medieval streets. This is where those who are in line for the throne have been crowned since the Fourteenth Century ("the Prince of Wales"). Time to walk around and have lunch.
13:00 hrs Caernarfon –Departure-. We follow the coast towards England.
16:00 hrs Liverpool –Arrival at hotel.- At around 16:45, we suggest a visit to the Beatles Museum (admission not included) so that you can discover this fascinating place and the Albert Dock.
