Introduction

This tour is a flexible, guaranteed escorted coach tour, guided in English only.

Once the tour is booked, it is guaranteed so it will definitely go ahead, and will never cancel.

The tour is flexible so you can tailor it to suit your needs. By clicking ‘Quote or Book’, you will have an option to choose your start and end date and destinations within the tour parameters. As these tours allow for such flexibility, the same people, tour guides or drivers may not be on your entire journey.

Day

 WELCOME TO LONDON! 
Transfer from airport to hotel.  Later, our guide will give an overview of the tour or you can check the informative panels in the hotel reception area. 
 

A c omprehensive tour of London i s included today. Our visit begins in the early morning.   The contents vary, depending on local guides, traffic and the weather. We will visit Hyde Park, Oxford St, the City, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, the Thames, Piccadilly Circus, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. During the visit we will stop at Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard (it is not always possible to see this ceremony).  The visit ends in the central part of the city .  Free afternoon. Our guide will offer you an optional outing to Windsor Castle. 
18:00 h.   In the evening, we will meet at a a meeting point in  Piccadilly Circus  where our guide will accompany you to Leicester Square, China Town and Soho with its amazing atmosphere, its theaters and bustle . Time for dinner in this area with numerous ethnic restaurants (Indian, Thai, Chinese, international, and so on). 

20.30 h.   return to the hotel from Piccadilly.  
Note: In some cases, this evening event will be organised the previous day, when we arrive in London.

Free day. You can enjoy the charm of this city and explore and discover memorable places.

Landscape: England’s rolling hills and the great plains of northern France. 
Important: Please, have your passport at hand as we will be going through the UK/French frontier. Remember to turn your clocks back one hour once you get to France ( 11h in the UK is 12h in France.)

07:30 h - London – We leave the large metropolis of London and head south-east. 
09:30 h - Canterbury - Arrival- Free time in what is the religious Capital of England. We recommend you explore this beautiful city full of life and traditional architecture, and its important cathedral. 

11:15 h - Canterbury- departure- 
11:45 h - Folkestone - arrival - After clearing Immigration our coach will board a Eurotunnel train, a feat of engineering which links England to the continent in about 35 mins and the longest underwater tunnel in the world. Expected departure time is 12:30 but this may vary. 

14:00 h (13:00 h UK time) - Coquelles (France)- We exit the train and continue by road. Time to have lunch at a service station. 
16:45 h - Amiens - We arrive at this city famous for its Gothic cathedral. Time to visit its lively alleys, floating gardens and Jules Verne’s home at your own pace. 

18:30 h - Amiens - departure. 
21:00 h - PARIS - arrival.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: City tour in Paris. Boat ride along the Seine. Climb to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Evening transfer.

09:00h Comprehensive tour of Paris with a local guide, visiting the Champs Elysees, Arch of Triumph, Concorde Square, Latin Quarter, Luxembourg Palace, Garnier Opera House, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Town Hall of Paris, Eiffel Tower, etc. Includes admission to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower in the lift.  

The visit is followed by a spectacular cruise on the river Seine which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore as you choose.

At sunset enjoy the evening transfer to “Quartier Latin ”, a very picturesque area of the historic centre where a wide variety of international cuisines await you. Return to hotel.

Note:  Because of the tourist attraction of the Tower, there may be important queues at the time of your access. In order to minimize the problem, in some occasions, the ascent to the Eiffel Tower can be given at another time of your stay in Paris.

Landscape: the soothing Loire Valley hills. 

We will lstart the day by transporting you to the Louvre Museum area in the centre of Paris. Our guide will propose some activities to wrap up your Paris stay: boat trip along the Seine, visit to the Louvre Museum.. Alternatively, you can choose to explore the city at your own pace and leisure. 

16:30h We depart Paris and head to the Loire Valley. 
19:30h - Amboise , we arrive in the late evening to this river side town where Leonardo Da Vinci lived and died. Here we find a castle and a charming historic town centre with narrow alleyways.

Landscape: pleasant central France. 

08:00 h We travel on along vineyard lands towards the south of France. 
12:00 h Bordeaux, time to grab lunch and take a stroll in this Unesco World Heritage city. We recommend you visit the Port of the Moon and Saint-André Cathedral. 

14:30 h We head south towards the Pyrenees. 
18:15 h Lourdes l ate evening arrival. Our guide will give you directions for this beautiful mountain town, world-renowned as a Catholic pilgrimage site and Sanctuary, where the Marian Apparitions took place. We recommend taking part in the Candle Light Procession which usually starts at 21:00h (until late October) and to visit the religious sites. Dinner at the hotel included for all our passengers.

Total distance: 465 km.
 
Countryside:  Pyrenees mountain range. Snow-covered high peaks through a large part of the year.      

08.30 hrs – Lourdes –Departure–. 
09:30 hrs - San Bertran de Cominges.  - A very pretty village at the foot of the Pyrenees, already existing in Roman times. Time to stroll and see its historic heritage.    

11.00 hrs - San Bertran de Cominges –Departure-. Passage through the metropolis of Toulouse. 
13:30hrs – Carcassonne  – Arrival at the “cité”, the mediaeval walled city. Time for lunch and to see this beautiful city.     

16.00 hrs – Carcassonne –Departure. –  We travel to Andorra,  a small independent country of the Pyrenees between Spain and France. Impressive high mountain scenery with summits often covered with snow.  
19.15 hrs – Andorra– Arrival. Free time.  Dinner included.  

Total distance: 225 km.
 
Countryside:  Pretty mountain scenery. Huge scenery around the monastery of Montserrat. WARNING:  Have your passport to hand, as there are sometimes border checks.    

Free morning in Andorra. You can visit this modern city amidst the mountains or go shopping in its large shopping centres with low taxes. - Time for lunch.   

14.00 hrs - Andorra –Departure-. Entry in Catalonia. We go to the beautiful area where the Benedictine Abbey stands. 
 16:15 hrs - Arrival at the foot of Montserrat Mountain. We get to the monastery on a  rack train (tickets included) , impressive views on the way up.  
16:45 hrs - Monastery of Montserrat  –Arrival-. Time to admire the views and visit the sanctuary of the Virgin of Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia   

18:30 hrs - Montserrat –Departure- (by bus). 
19.30 hrs - Barcelona  –Arrival-. Accommodation.

Highlights: Barcelona Guided tour lasting 3 hours; visit to “Poble Espanyol”, with admission included; transfer to Plaza de Cataluña and the Ramblas. 

09:00h.- Tour of the city with a local guide ( note: if the group has fewer than fifteen people, explanations can be given by our guide) who will tell us about this exciting city on the shores of the Mediterranean. We will visit the city’s historic central area with its Gothic neighborhood dating back to the Middle Ages. We will visit the area where the Olympic Games took place.  It will be possible to see and photograph La Sagrada Familia basilica; the masterpiece designed by the architect Gaudí.  

Subsequently, we include the entry ticket to  “Poble Espanyol ” (meaning, Spanish Village), an open-air museum that combines the art, traditions, architecture, arts and crafts and folklore of each of the Spanish regions. Time for lunch. Free afternoon.   

18:30h.- Transfer  to Plaza de Cataluña and the Ramblas , the heart of the city, where there are many restaurants where you can dine. Return to hotel.

Total distance: 725 km.

Scenery: We follow the Mediterranean coast. Landscapes on the sea.


08:00 hrs -Barcelona -Departure. We travel to the Valencian Community.
10:45 hrs -Peñíscola. - Arrival. Dominating the sea with its powerful walls, its historic center with steep streets, white houses and medieval castle. History tells us about popes and pirates. Peñíscola is one of the most beautiful villages of the Spanish Mediterranean. Time to walk.

12:30 hrs -Peñíscola.- Departure.
14:30 hrs -Valencia.- Arrival.  Free time in the center for lunch. Why not trying an authentic Paella Valenciana?. We suggest visiting the Lonja and the Cathedral.

16:30 hrs -Valencia.- Departure. After passing through the avant-garde city of Arts and Sciences, we  continue through Castilla-La Mancha to Madrid.
21:00 hrs -Madrid.- Transfer to the Plaza Mayor - There may be small variations in the departure time according to the hotel where you stay. Our guide will accompany you to the area so that you know where the main inns are located. 

Note:  If the number of travellers from Valencia to Madrid is very small, the trip may be done by train or regular transport. 

Highlights: Guided tour and stroll through Retiro Park. Visit to Las Ventas Bullring (admission included) and transfer to Plaza del Oriente.   

The day starts about 08.30 hrs with a comprehensive tour through the centre of Madrid including Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, the Gate of Alcalá,  Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. 

Visit to Retiro Park , an oasis in the city centre, where we will see the lake and the Glass Palace. Admission to Las Ventas Bullring included . This is one of the most famous bullrings in the world where we will learn about the tradition of “corridas” in the Bullfighting Museum. 

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon.


At sunset we provide a transfer to Plaza de Oriente , opposite the Royal Palace, an elegant and bustling area with many restaurants serving different exquisite cuisines (Indian, Middle Eastern, Muslim, Spanish, International)  in which to enjoy a pleasant dinner. Return to hotel.
