Introduction
This tour is part of our flexible coach touring range, guaranteed with a minimum of 2 people. Once the tour is booked, it is guaranteed so it will definitely go ahead, and will never cancel.
This tour is guided in English only. Please note if English speaking attendance numbers are low, the tour can become bilingual either accompanied by two tour leaders, one for each language, or a single tour leader providing explanations in both languages.
The tour offers flexibility, allowing you to customize it to your preferences. Scenery: carved hills on the Castilla plateau. Wet and green in the Basque Country.
Note: we recommend comfortable shoes for walking on cobblestone streets.
08:30 hrs. - Madrid, after breakfast we leave for the lands of Castilla. Beautiful landscapes crossing mountains.
10:00 hrs. - Segovia . Upon arrival, we circumambulate the city to the Viewpoint of the Pradera de San Marcos , from where we will have the best views of the Alcázar of Segovia (which inspired Walt Disney for the witch´s castle in Sleeping Beauty) and its walls. Later we will park next to the Roman aqueduct of Segovia, built in the 1st century, although in use until 1973 and currently a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have free time to walk through the old part of the city and have lunch, heading to the Plaza Mayor, where you can see the cathedral and the Alcázar.
14:00 hrs. - Segovia, departure. We continue our route along small roads that allow us to appreciate the towns and landscapes.
14:45 hrs. - Pedraza , time to walk and have lunch in this town considered one of the most beautiful in Spain, a powerfully walled medieval town, cobblestone streets, historic buildings, Plaza Mayor and its fortress that dates back to the 13th century.
16:15 hrs. - Pedraza, departure. We continue our route to the Basque Country.
20:30 hrs. - Bilbao . Arrival. We recommend a walk through the old town with its numerous taverns and bars, where you can taste the famous “pintxos”.

10:00 hrs. - Segovia . 16:15 hrs. - Pedraza, departure. We continue our route to the Basque Country.
20:30 hrs. - Bilbao . Arrival. We recommend a walk through the old town with its numerous taverns and bars, where you can taste the famous “pintxos”.

Scenery: industrial cities with very beautiful, green and mountainous landscapes. Houses with traditional architecture, farmhouses, in the mountains.
Today we will get to know Bilbao and its estuary, where the Guggenheim Museum stands out with its striking exterior architecture, the old town, the old medieval center with its streets full of life, its cathedral or, in the estuary, in Portugalete, the Vizcaya Bridge (admission included) , a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous for being the world´s first ferry bridge for pedestrians and vehicles. Free time for a walk and lunch. We recommend La Ribera Market for lunch, which offers stalls with typical Basque cuisine in a boat-like structure, located in front of the river.
14:30 hrs. - Bilbao, departure. After lunch time we continue our day.
15:15 hrs. - Guernica , arrival and time for a walk in this town, birthplace of the Basque people, but sadly known for being the place, where one of the worst massacres of the Spanish Civil War, remembered in the painting by Pablo Picasso, took place. Here is the Tree of Guernika, under whose branches the Basque Country was granted autonomy in the Middle Ages.
16:45 hrs. - Guernica. We continue our route amidst mountains.
18:15 hrs. - Hondarribia (Fuenterrabia) , we make a stop in one of the most beautiful towns in the Basque Country, with its beaches, its walls, its maritime atmosphere and its historic center, where the grid layout of its narrow, cobbled streets may only surprise us. Time for a walk in the historic center.
20.45 hrs. - Hondarribia, departure.
21:15 hrs. - San Sebastián / Donostia . Arrival in the evening to the elegant capital of Guipuzcoa. Our hotel is usually located at the top of Mount Igueldo, from where you can see one of the most beautiful views of this elegant illuminated city.

In the morning, after admiring the views over the bay of San Sebastian from Mount Igueldo, we´ll head to the Miramar Palace and its beautiful gardens. Free time afterwards to enjoy its large beach, stroll along its boulevards and have lunch in the "Old Town" famous for its lively pintxos bars and its vibrant atmosphere, a popular destination for food lovers. Each establishment has its own speciality and style, making exploring and trying different pintxos an exciting and delicious experience.

17:15 hrs. - Burgos . We will make a stop with time to walk through the historic center, where its beautiful cathedral, a jewel of Gothic style, stands out.

21:15 hrs. – Madrid . Arrival in the evening.
