Arrival transfer. Our cruise begins in Düsseldorf, the German city famous for its carnival. This elegant and bustling city on the Rhine river stands out for its fashion, shopping, and cultural scene. The Königsallee, one of the most luxurious avenues in Europe, is just steps away from the Altstadt, the old town with its 260 bars and restaurants, whose style is world-renowned. Its narrow streets are full of life, and the city is packed with spectacular events and exhibitions. Embarkation starts at 4:00 PM. Welcome dinner. Night on board.
Around breakfast time, we will arrive in Koblenz, one of Germany´s oldest and most beautiful cities. The city is located at the world-famous "German Corner" (Deutsches Eck). Spectacular scenery, made up of four mountain ranges, vineyards, and forests, surrounds this town. Its 2,000-year history is reflected in an architectural heritage of stunning churches, palaces, historic aristocratic mansions, and magnificent stately homes. Optional guided walking tour (entrance fees not included). Night on board.
We wake up in Mainz, a city with nearly 2,000 years of historical heritage. The cityscape is dominated by the cathedral. In its shadow lies medieval Mainz, where life unfolds among narrow, winding alleys and the numerous small shops, boutiques, and cafés surrounding the wonderful Kirschgarten with its romantic half-timbered houses. From the Rhine, the Mainz skyline appears more understated, shaped by two distinct eras: the Modern, with the City Hall, the Hilton Hotel, and the Rheingoldhalle Congress Center; and the Baroque and Renaissance, featuring the Neues Zeughaus (New Armory), the Deutschordenshaus, and the Electoral Palace.
In the afternoon, we will arrive in Rüdesheim, one of the most visited towns in the country. Historic landmarks like the Klunkhardshof, the fortified Adler Tower, the thousand-year-old Brömser Castle, or the ruins of Ehrenfels Castle invite you to spend some time exploring this town. Overnight stay in the city. Night on board.
After lunch, we will arrive in Cologne, the oldest German city, which is home to countless cultural and historical treasures, world-famous museums, and a diverse art scene. Take a journey through 2,000 years of history and visit cultural monuments from the Roman Empire to modern times. Optional guided walking tour of Cologne (entrance fees not included). In the evening, the Captain’s Dinner will take place. Overnight stay in Dusseldorf. Night on board.
Every year, on Christmas´ eve, the city is filled with festive splendor: Christmas lights shine brightly, the scent of roasted almonds fills the air, and Christmas stalls entice visitors. Enjoy this Christmas fairy tale by strolling through the old town of Düsseldorf. Disembark after breakfast. End of our services.
